"I am fearless, courageous, and confident! I can achieve anything I want. I believe without a doubt that I will succeed."
Do you think the following words describe the effects of today's housing slump?
"Values have shrunken to fantastic levels; taxes have risen; our ability to pay has fallen; government of all kinds is faced by serious curtailment of income; ...the savings of many years in thousands of families are gone."
These words were actually used by Franklin D. Roosevelt in his first inaugural address when the nation was gripped by the great depression in 1933.
He also said, "Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself..."
FDR taught the nation the importance of fearlessness, courage, and confidence. He inspired the nation to "convert retreat into advance."
